BARtalk | April 2018

For many years now people always ask me this same question….

“When my venue is going well and I step up to the Orange Door system, I’m a bit lost on good sets of music to play….how do I rock it up?”

I just focus on 3 to 5 song sets and run across the combos. Singalong style sets are still my go-to these days and have been for many years.

The 5 song sets below come from one song and then lead you to another, but by keeping sets small it’s a safe bet you can keep a beat that rocks the house.

Sing Along Party Set

  1. Jessica Simpson – These Boots are Made for Walking
  2. Kid Rock -All Sumer Long
  3. The Boss Hoss – Ring Ring Ring
  4. Craig McLachlan – Mona
  5. The Party Boys – He’s Gonna Step All Over You

Pop Dance Set

  1. Pitbull – I Know You Want Me
  2. Phats & Small – Turn Around
  3. The Shapeshifters – Lola’s Theme
  4. Steve Angello – Show Me Love
  5. Alesso – Falling

Classic Set

  1. John Mellencamp – Hurts So Good
  2. Doobie Brothers – China Grove
  3. Michael Jackson – Billy Jean
  4. Commodores – Brick House
  5. Boz Scaggs – Lido Shuffle

So next time you want to get a few grooving build some sets, or in your down time make some lists around a 3 to 5 song set

Today! Figure out what are the 5 things that customers love most and hate most about your business and build off that. Ask your staff and some of your guests to do the simple 5 and 5 questionnaire. Build around your strengths and design a way to not have things they hate.

A focus on developing and being solutions-based always works, so focus!

Until then, keep the questions coming and have a great profitable month.
